Question Car fax on an import

Hey guys, im about to buy a nice 3rd Gen car, low KM and all that good stuff, but im wating to see if its a clean title, no crashes etc. Its imported to canada, from japan, and im wating to do this, but with CARFAX, it only will work wiith North American Cars. Is there any same sort of site for Japan Originated cars? Thanks allot.

Why don't you ask the guys in Japan (post in the Far East/Japan sub section)?

Why don't you just buy one that's here and you can check out in person?

Well its going to be here, and its a 92 with under 20k km. So its find for sure! I am going to check it out in person also, but i dont want a car thats been in a crash, thats normal though... So i would like to check the VIN to see if it has had any claims on it.

So, any one know wherer i can search a japan VIN?

There's no sites in Japan for checking VIN numbers, simply because Japan doesn't use the same VIN system as other countries.

Basically if the vehicle is in one piece with no obvious weld marks or repainting then you more then likely have a non-wrecked vehicle. Majority of the time if a vehicle is in an accident here people will just junk them vise paying for repairs, unless their vehicle is highly modded but for the most part they all see the scrap yard after being stripped. That is all due to vehicles being fairly cheap to purchase here.

If the car you are getting has less then 20km on the odo then you got a pretty decent vehicle so long as it runs and has no major body damage.
