Just curious of why you would ask people that are in Japan? PLUS there are about 10000000000000 webpages to check this info.

Depends on time of year, which airport you are flying into, and it depends on what coast you are leaving the United States from...

500'ish will get you from coast to coast. I'm not saying you can go from Okinawa to mainland and then mainland to New York City and back on $500. I said ROUGHLY depending on other factors, what airport you are departing/arriving, how many bags and how much they weight, meals, seating, etc. Personally I pay no more then $400-$450 for my tickets but that is because I have a 20 year history with Delta :-)

Additionally, paying over $1000 usually means you paid last minute for your tickets. The further out in advance you pay the cheaper it's going to be. Now if you are looking at going, say for example, LAX to Tokyo and that's it then you can for sure keep it under $800, easy. But if you live further away (east coast) then of course it'll cost you more. Delta has GREAT flate rates to and from Japan, United as well. I wouldn't take a JAL or ANA flight though because their planes are not quite "American friendly", if you've ever been on a ANA or JAL plane you'll know what I'm talking about.

Lastly, check into sub carrier companies. Small airlines that are apart of larger ones or on a "Sky Team" will sometimes have lower rates.

Let me know if you have anymore questions

That's a great deal for round trip plus hotel for that amount of time

Are you wanting to visit mainland? Tokyo, etc?

Okinawa is far from anything great to see, especially in the "car scene"

from my experiance the cheapest fares to anywhere are generally just after and just before xmas
ie november or february departures from your home country are often less than 50% of xmas fares

this is because so few people can get/want to take holidays so close to xmas but the airlines have a fixed number of seats and fixed schedules

For those of us in Japan:

One way flights from 10/1 to 10/5 are only 7,800en. Domestic flights within Japan. Check out the local ticket agents for details. General ticket sales went on sale on 8/1.

So if you fly on the 1st, it's 7,800en. Fly back on the 5th or before that, just another 7,800en.

Just passing the info.

You can get a POD hotel for about $30 a night but your sleeping in a small pod chamber and the shower is a gang shower. It cheap though. Otherwise for about $60 a night you can find small rooms with your own shower and $1.00/ ten min. ****.......just thought I'd throw that in there LOL. Another option is to hook up with some Japanese chick and have her pay for a love hotel. It would be an every night thing though. If you really want to be cheap you can sleep at a 24 hour restaraunt ie;....Johnathans, Skylark. My wife said she had done it before, I guess they don't kick you out.
Hotel fares can easily cost people more than their air fare in Japan. If your coming here for just the car scene and your single, what I would do is come to the Tokyo area and try and find a girl to shack up with or POD it. If your coming for sight seeing Kyoto is where its at....and the partying there is pretty good too.
I may sound weird but I thought I'd throw out all your options. Cheers!
