Short throw made from scrap.

The shifter bushings in my track project were missing so I made a new shifter out of stuff I had floating around the shop.

I cut the end of the stock shifter, turned a shoulder to fit a spherical bearing I had and threaded it. The **** was left over from a previous project, the shaft is some stainless tube with stainless cap screws inserted in the ends. The body was made out of a motor mount that ended up too short.

I still need to do final fitment, weld in the cap screws and make a top plate, but all in all, I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Once everything is snugged down, there is no play in the shifter but the movement is very smooth.

The simplicity of this actually looks stronger and longer lasting than the most exspensive unit anyone could buy. This is very awsome! I would love to own somthing like this.
