that wouldnt really simplify the construction process...the collector itself would be 5x the work of how you usually see. welding 2 pipes together times 2, each weld is aprox. 6 1/2" long vs welding a collector and through the middle of the pipes to seal it completely.
also a collector i see you would have an issue with twin wastegates for obvious reasons
think about the total number of welds on my manifold vs a collector type one....this is much simpler

Wouldn't this be less welds? aside from the one 2 into 1 collector, all of the bends you have to make and weld are only done once, instead of twice when you have one pipe. (please excuse the crude drawing)
(Sorry to muddy up your thread, im just curious to see why no one does this with a single pipe)

the collector should be welded between the pipes, which is WAY more difficult and time consuming also there are fewer number of welds per say but the weld length/time is longer....if that makes sense

Its funny how many people have no idea how much time goes into making one.
Keep in mind that smaller wall tubing also cuts fab time in half, the time spent cutting, grinding and fitting is greatly reduced. Heavy wall stuff adds a lot more time. Also merging two more pipes together for a single waste-gate is usually the hardest part of making a manifold. I love when people order twin wastegate manifolds. Makes life easy.
Try this on for size if you really want a challenge; single waste-gate with a divider going up to the waste-gate valve.
