ideas ASAP

Hey guys, first I am a designer at a composite shop and my boss wants a plug for a mold to be cut on our CNC to test release agents and surface finishs. It needs to be 10" x 6" x 1.5" or smaller. I can make it any shape I want, and I need ideas ASAP, I was thinking mabey half a catch can (make two pc, then bond together after molded). What do you guys think, anything you want to see out of Carbon Fiber?

are you talking injection mold, or a forming mold? More detail please =) Do you produce the part then wrap it in carbon? Wet or dry carbon? Are you making the part in a lathe or a mill? 2D or 3D machining?

Thanks, Dan-o

sorry about the lack of details, we are an aerospace manufacturining facility that produces carbon/epoxy parts using mainly resin infusion (a google search best explains it). we have two large 5 axis routers that cut a 3D male master or plug, a fiberglass female mold is taken off the master (a negative of the master), next carbon fiber is layed in the mold and infused. finally after the epoxy has cured the part is popped and trimmed.
I ended up just doing the oil catch can, the process takes a while but I will post some pic of the proces
