Lightbulb 3D carbon fiber vinyl wrap

Hey there, has anyone tried to wrap their cars with the new 3D vinyl carbon fiber yet? I bought a huge roll of 5'x6'. I'm going to wrap the interior, I did a test run with the console and it looks pretty good. but letting it sit a few days, it started coming up at the bends. I'm going to try and heat shrink it back and it might stay but it should be fine when installed just wondering if anyone else has tried it. I'll post pics soon.

I did several interior pieces. Gauge trim and cover, radio surround, shifter surround and wibndow switch plate. To be honest, It lost it's appeal pretty quick and I pulled it all off and just painted them flat black. I had the same problem with sections coming up here and there and it just never looked great. Maybe pros have some tips on keeping it down better at the edges/corners.

vinyl wrap

Sorry the vinyl wrap didn't work.
I have seen interior cf vinyl work done and loved it. It was worth the try.

A topic variation, I saw a car exterior done completely in a wrap and was very impressed. I googled vinyl wrap and read a few things: it seems u get what u pay for. As usual, some of the wraps don't turn corners, as they are for flat panels only!

A friend has a vinyl wrap business here in california for big trucks and i plan on pursuing a full vehicle wrap.

It seems best left to pros but my car is in primer already and before i pay $3k to paint it, a $300 plus labor vinyl attempt is in order.

The 3m product seems the most recommended, so the education begins.

I have a few discreet vinyl cf interior pieces and I like them.

Ive used some on some interior bits myself, and found that probably the most important part of using this stuff is the preparation. i scuffed my surfaces, then cleaned them, then used a 1200grit paper and made them smooth again. cleaned everything down with brake cleaner and or acetone, and it came out phenomenal.

Now for the exterior, ive seen two car with it, and they were freshly wrapped, and they looked pretty good. However, id think my main concern would aligning the peices so it looks smooth and not broken up.

Like i said, if anyone is gonna try this stuff, prep the hell out of the surface. In for pics if you go for it

I vinyl wrapped my hood and headlight cover. Paint was oxidizing and headlight cover was new and needed paint. Cost me 80 bucks total.

If you look closely, you'll see some bubbles on the hood. But they went away as the wrap heated up.

My work is the only 3m dealer for the northwest. We do the carbon vynal all the time. Heat helps alot. Using the heat of the sun is the best. Always use a primer like 3m primer 094 or windshield glue primer for the metal. Use the primer on all edges to keep from coming up.

For more info and pricing on the REAL 3M carbon vynal give my work a call 509-927-0581

I have to find pictures, but I have a few friend that have covered their canards, and wing bases...it comes out pretty well even on tight bends.
