Update on my FC

Well as some of you may know I've been pretty busy working on my FC. The car in my avatar is mine. I finally got all my parts from RX7 Store, after waiting since mid-April. All the mods that are in my signature now have been done over the last 3-4 weeks. The paint is freshly finished and I'll be taking it to a car show on base on Saturday. You can see pics of the car (small file size, but good resolution) at: http://www.razorsharpperformance.com/carpics.htm

Right now I'm working on fixing a problem that just arose a few days ago. It's sort of a knocking/grinding in the front right wheel and there are no rub marks or anything. It's only when I'm going around right hand turns too. Sometimes I can feel it on a left hand turn if I'm taking the turn really fast and putting a lot of load on the right tire. I checked for bearing play and that is good. I adjusted the ride height and that didn't make a difference. The noise and feeling are a little scary and I'd prefer not to lose a rim while driving, LOL. Any suggestions you guys might have would be appreciated.

well, I rechecked my bearing play, this time with the rim on (not sure why I tried it with the wheel off) and it is definitely a bad bearing. Aaron, if you read this call me with a price for your brake kit/5 lug kit. I could sure use the bearings off of them and I would also like to have an extra set of calipers and so forth.

I don't know Kim, but I saw some pics of it lookin' a little banged up. Speaking of banged up: Higgi, you never told me the back of my car was BRAZED on. I don't know what kind of body/collision repair they're teaching in CZ, but I know they don't teach that in the US. Doing all the body work and taking all the panels off helped me discover that most of the car has been resectioned at one point or another. All well, she's still my baby and I still love her, LOL.

sorry, thanks to travelintrevor for the mufflers that may have saved my hearing for years to come, LOL. I'll be at the races if I can get these bearing taken care of. I can't believe they just went the way they did. I thought bearings progressivly went bad, not just all of a sudden. Probably has something to do with the new rotors and rims and suspension. They got to feeling jealous that they weren't new too so they just went bad, LOL. Hopefully Aaron's price on his extra brake setup is reasonable. The color is a little off on the panels because I painted each panel individually instead of all at once like I should have. That's what happens when you do it piecemeal the way I did. I'll be redoing the paint (same color) before Car Are The Stars in august. All in all, I'm still happy with the work, but I can do better now that I'm practiced up. Anyways, wish me luck with winning something tomorrow at the car show. It's at vehicle maintenance on Ramstein if anyone feels like a road trip and can get on base.

Car was purchased by myself in USA and no body work was done on it here in Europe (speaking of what they teach in US or CZ )

LOL...still pretty shocking to see sheet metal held together with brass instead of being welded together with steel. All well, I guess it does what it's supposed to.

I was really hoping my intake and bov would get here in time for the show, but all well. As far as I know I'm the only rotary entering the show so that will count for something.

BTW, I saw a brown 1st gen in the junkyard the other day if anyone needs anything. I think it had rims with it and everything. The body looked fairly straight but the motor had been screwed with some.

@mirec

i know that the dutch people love orange :-)

i was a few years ago in holyday and one day in amsterdam.
there was "königinnenfest" or queens fest,party?
all people wear orange clothes and driving with boats on water with 20 paletts of beer and so :-)
that was crazy :-)
