RX7 Series 8 CO2 emissions?

Hi guys, I'm new at the forum and as a Rotary lover, I'm planning to import one from Japan or Australia but I have some questions, maybe you can help me.

First, like the title says, can you tell me the levels of CO2 of the serie 8(280cv)?

How is about those levels and EURO4 limits? Can we import without having to change anything? Or to pass we have to made some changes?

Did someone import a series 8 from Japan or Australia? Does Mazda or the countries that I refer create any problems?

Good companies or privates to import the toys from plane to Europe, like German or better spain?

Thanks

Well, ever thought about the side of the road the cars drive on?

So at least you will have to get headlights for LHD driving, so the cars headlights won't blind anybody.

For the rest it's up to the Spainisch rules, get in the touch with the spanisch ministry of vehicles i guess....

Every country has it own rules, no real EU regulation on this as far as i know of.

This is tricky. As far as I know there are EU rules, and then memberstate rules on top of that. One rule is that a car currently registered in one member of the EU MUST be allowed to be registered in any other country of the EU. BUT you must take a look at Spanish rules here, since many EU-rules have not been turned into laws by all members of the EU yet. So even if EU laws would say it'd be possible, even then local laws can still interfere. For example, Holland and Greece actually have some ILLEGAL taxes, and still get away with it. Belgium has been convicted by the EU numerous times on all sort of subjects, yet doesn't seem to care.
With a S8 you might need to import a car via UK or Germany (where one-car homologations are possible) but again: check local laws. If CO is all what matters, you might get away with it, but emission rules normally go beyond that.
And of course, LHD lights etc will be needed.

Thanks for the answers.

About the lights I had an idea and its a "minor thing", more or less, I'm more concerned for example about the CO2 emissions in series 8, I can't find numbers. I know that the RX8 version with 235hp(+/-), it is indicated by releasing 284g/km, and he respects EURO4 far as I know, and I'd like to see some numbers for the 7, I think that cars indicate that somewhere, or maybe someone in here could give me an idea, probably it would be a bigger value but how much..

Other thing is if someone living in Europe, had imported directly or not the car - remember I talk about the series 8 - from Japan or Australia, that would be great to learn somethings for the future hehe

You should talk to people in the UK or Germany. At least in the UK it'll be easy to find out how hard/easy importing is. The lights won't need to be changed for UK road use, but indeed that's basicly a minor mod. It might be expensive if you'll need new ones though.

that's the UK club, try there (might need to register)

Why?

I just need to have an idea, or how is calculated. It will probably exceed but the power can be cut to the inspecions and then uncuted to ride. I just need a number, if not from the series 8, about the 3rd GEN, its difference from 40HP, shouldn't be to much different.

Hi. About this topic-problem.. after asking here and there, I was making the wrong question.

There are no limits for "CO2" emissions. EURO ways control just CO(not CO2 like I was saying), HC+NOx and now particule emission.

The series 8 were produced at 1999, so I'm not sure but I think the cars have to pass in EURO2 limits (appeared in 1996), EURO3 is from 2001-2002 so the 7's s8 was already on the streets.

So.. if you guys in Europe have a series 8 and he passes, let me know, or tell me if you had to cut the power. Thanks

It could be made to pass with some modifications. Add a sexond catiletic converter. I had a very dirty car, that was running extreme rich. It was made to pass ca emmisions, and would have met the emmisions listed above, by putting 2 new cat converters in place of the one.
