Sorry Tony for not answering before, but I must have overseen your reply.

I only bought the apex seals at RotaryAviation, only took a week to get here O-rings and other stuff I took uhh got at work

Rest of the seals and FD cornersprings I bought at my local Mazda stealership.
Next time(my current motor) I will buy all the seals and stuff at R.A. as its cheaper.

So today Oliver(OC94Rx7) and I rebuild my motor.

It was easier than I thought, but some parts were hard to remember because its like four months since I took it apart.
Only real serious problem was fitting one of the Apexseal springs on the rear rotor, it ended up falling into one of the watercanals, but with a little physical ingeenuity involving a long *** screwdriver and a magnet we got it out
And after looking for a lost thrustwasher for half an hour and going through the garbage, it turned out to be located on the back of the front counterweight

Anyways here are a few pictures.
I used After run oil as used in R/C Nitro motors for the lubeing of internal parts.

It's gonna smoke....thats for sure!

I was just there to give a helping hand. Make sure Kim had some good music playing, eat right (not just candy bars) and add some comic relief.

It was fun Kim bigthumb:

Nice job, Kim!
Did you do any porting or so while she was open?
I'd like to know how the rebuild went, and how well the engine runs afterwards, as I'd love to rebuild an engine too, just to learn from it. Since I have a very useable 12A core here, a bridge ported 12A is within reach
Any problems during rebuild? Any really special tools needed?

Thanks boys

The Irons has been ported as pictured earlier in this thread, Primarys are kindda mild but with more duration, secondarys are medium/big and 5/6th ports are big/large.
I have finally learned to TIG weld so I will make some custom cold air intake.

As mentioned before, it was easier than I thought, just make sure you have the rebuild kit required before attempting because some of the parts were kindda hard to remember. I got the rebuild video and watched it a few times and proceeded on by memory

I dont know about the flywheelnut on 12A´s but its a 54mm on 13B´s and requires an air-impact gun to get it loose I took it to a local mechanic and gave him a handfull of beers to do it, works every time
Other than that you need the usual Mazda sized tools(10,12,17 & 19mm sockets) and a torque wrench or two.

hahaha No depeche mode.
I played some Korn for Kim. Good rebuild rotary music!! Also because the bass and drums kinda sound like a rotary motor turning! Maybe, thats just me thinking that?

Flywheels on 12A's or 13B's are all 54mm, and an impact gun doesn't even always work! The best trick is to use a huge wrench (the wheelwrench for trucks is great if you don't have the Mazda one) and have a pair of feet (not your own) standing on the "lip" of the rotor/sidehousings. You need to remove the oilpan and pressure regulator first. Then just jump like a maniac on the wrench. Works most of the time. It even worked when I couldn't get the nut loose with an impactwrench!
Your are right about the beer: it always works

Kim,

Did you find out what's up with the oilpressure?
Shouldn't go higher as 6 Bar :-/

It might be the 20/50 weight oil it seems pretty thick for only 10 degrees celsius of freezing danish weather
