Well Werny, sorry, but an event "open to all" isn't the same as appealing to all...
Apart from Swiss meetings being not really next door, there's the problem of money (not a cheap country...) and language. People tend to go to meetings in countries they can understand the language. Which is why the French are rare at Germany meetings...
And of course, just bedause you say the event is open to all doesn't mean everybody will feel like it's something for them. It's hard to make a decent meet for such different people.

And one more thing to keep in mind: organizing a meeting or club, is all about making people feel welcome. I personally always liked the Dutch club, as I feel part of the group. I have been member of the German club, but always felt as an outsider (even if my German is fluent) and not part of the club. So I felt there was no point to remain a member.
Obviously, this is very subjective, and what I feel must not neccesarily reflect what others think, but for me it's important how I feel as part of a club.

i think the biggest problem are the fuel prices and the long way...
that`s in germany a problem to become a handfull of rx7 to a meeting.
the most rx7 meetings in germany are from the german rx7 club and they wan`t money for non club members for the meetings.
i`m not a member of a rx7 club only from a german mazda club but there are to 90% only 323 and other piston cars.
i like to meet other guys from europe only the languages are problems.
my english is poor too and from some other european guys too.
but i hope we can make next year a europe meeting everywhere in the middle of us all

always a lot of rotary showings from the UK everytime i go to the ring. it should be a good place for sight seeing and checking out the different types of sports car and how they perform first hand on the track. Nurburgring parking lot is the best car show i've been to.
