converting to US spec?

i'm tired of having a stupid Dizzy

how hard would it be to convert to a US spec S4 NA?

as far as i can think.. all i need is:

ECU
Wiring harness
AFM
CAS
Pressure sensor
leading and trailing coils

did i miss anything?

will it be a smooth swap? or will i have some problems?

- ECU
- main harness (in-car, under dash)
- engine harness
- AFM
- CAS
- presure sensor
- coils

thats about it

(might need the rear harness as well, as there are some differences between EU spec and US spec harnesses and sometimes its not plug & play affair, however i did it once and its doable)

Since your car is hybrid (its got S5 gauge cluster and not sure what other S5 stuff u have in interior) i would suggest getting complete wiring harness of US spec S5 car.

the whole interior is S5.. down to the radio and shiftknob... but i dunno what else is effected by the change over..

but my motor is an S4... so u think i should run it with an S5 ecu? what about the OMP differences and stuff...

sounds like it'll be cheaper running it on a haltech instead

all i have is an NA AFM

the rest of the stuff i have is from a TII and wont do me any good

so i'd have to try and find the rest of the stuff for cheap... (dunno how likely that is tho)

Why going through all the trouble of this swap? A good dizzy isn't that bad. It seems so much work to change all this stuff, just to get rid of a dizzy. I'd much rather leave it in and then convert it to direct fire using 3 coils.

main reason i wanna switch is because it seems so much harder to trouble shoot my car being euro spec.. there's little support

i've been plagued with problems that i can't fix cuz my car is Euro spec...

i got a retarded cold start problem

and my secondary injectors don't fire..

the car is a dog.. and runs like crap.. and it guzzles gas like it's goin outta style.. i get 5km/liter cleaning the injectors and changing the fuel filter made no diff... my ecu has no o2 and therefore no closed loop mode which doesn't help (us spec does)

car wont rev past 3.5 under load so it has no power and is no fun to drive (us spec has a pressure solenoid u can unplug to simulate load and run the car on 4 injectors at idle to help trouble shoot, gay euro spec doesn't)

local mazda dealer doesn't support Rotary vehicles and wont order parts for me

the forums 99% sell US spec components... which are not compatible with my car

(learned that the hard way when i blew 50 bux on a AFM that is now a paper weight)

sorry for the bitching

had to get it off my chest...

- you have main TII harness? (the biggest part of harness which goes from ECU, under dash and thru drivers side into the engine bay, to the lights, etc) if answer is YES, you have most of what u need
- CAS is same US NA like TII
- ECU and engine harness you need US spec NA
