Talking Bought a garage (got a house with it)!

Things have been busy overhere, though cars have been on a very low level lately. Changing jobs earlier this year meant a whole new opportunity came into reach: moving to the eastern (german speaking) part of Belgium.
We searched for a building plot, but ended up buying an existing building instead.
Apart from the large house (currently divided into three flats) there is also a huge amount of space for me There is a single bay garage, large (4x6m) but basicly just a normal "one car and a lot of rubbish" type. Then there's another single car garage, that's wider (approx 4.55x13.20m) and longer.
Then, most important for me: there's a large storage room perfect for a workshop: 12x17.2m. But that's not enough, since there's also a nice second workshop, with car-pit, so I'll finally be able to work under the cars more comfortabel! That one is 6x15.5m.
We'll be busy with the house first (turning two flats into one large house) but I'll be ever so happy to work in that roomy garage once I have more time!
Oh, and the village we'll be in is really huge: it has 973 souls at the moment

here are some pics, the one of the roof give a good idea of the sizes of the workshop-area (the house itself and one garage aren't underneath this)

waaw, 45 people... that must be a quiet village. Oh, no, wait, it would be shouldn't there be one of those RX-7 maniacs living there
Well, for me this really is a small village, coming from Flanders which is slowly becoming one big city.

you can bet! For starters there will be two Ro80's and a Rx7, but in a few years my fathers RX-7 will join, so mine won't feel so lonely And maybe I'll find another few projects to fill the garages up

That's great Bart !
I have been looking for a garage like that for years. But...I am not ready to move from the (expensive) area where I live now. Family, kids, school, you get the picture.
Visiting you will become a daytrip now, I guess.

I do get the picture, yes. For us it was now or never. Kids are bilangual anyway, so German won't be problem. But once there older, you don't want to move too far away. Now it was still possible.
Overhere, buying had always been out of the question for us, even now my salary gave me more room to breathe. With ground prices soaring (now going 300euro/m²) you just can't afford a house anymore. Let alone a workshop...
Eastern Belgium is way cheaper, so it was a good option for us.
But yes, visiting will be a good drive

You're welcome! We'll probable be working on the house for the next few years, but there's enough place to invite friends over.
Especially those who are willing to help us finishing the house J/K
