WA What should I spend my money? Pineapple Street Ported TII.

I have an old Hal Tech running the car now, but its from the late 90's. I don't have DAS to interact with the old ECU, and the guy I got the car from said it was limited and the best thing I could do was get a new management system.

I have about $4000 to finish up the car. I got in a slump and just kind of depressed trying to light a fire and get after things. Thought this be a good point to start at.

Currently swapping parts from the 85 parts car into and 82, so I have time to work the Managment out.

Again its a Pineapple build street ported TII block. Dont know injectors off

I am going up to the car later today and I can update parts as need be if ask.

Go for a drive on the coast, spend some money on a hotel. Maybe try to get to Alices restaurant in Woodside on the weekend, Skyline Drive, CA. Remember why you are building the car.

Sadly the car is not drivable... Or the one with the TII engine in it. Guy was going to go Mad Max and cut the bumper off at the supports on the frame. So I am swapping everything over to my nice 82 that had a popped engine.

I know carb stuff but I just don't know what to do with EFI, or what a good management system would be. I want to buy something I can grow with so I don't want to go dirt cheap, or go over the top expensive with something I don't really need "that good of".

Take a different car, just go for fun.

Elite 1500 seems to be a middle ground ECU that will do everything you will need with a 2 rotor, good place to start might be comparing ECUs in that category

If you're not going with drive by wire there's no point in the 1500. In reality these days I'd say the 750 is entry level for cable driven stuff, the 1000 entry+ and 2000 icing. The 550 works for relatively stripped track cars buts its pretty neutered.

The 750 is a nice price savings too over the 1500 by the looks of it too. The only thing that is tempting with the 1000/1500 though is the pre-done harnesses, and I do not mind spending a little extra, and having the grow room over the entry level buy in. I got the car for not much at all so I feel like I can spoil her a little bit. Is what I am really looking at this point is an "easier" plug and play for this first go.

The harnesses aren't completely plug and play due to ignition and a few other things, and SuperSeal connectors are easy to re-pin. Whatever you choose hope it works out.

If you've got $4000 to play with, you've got some options. Maybe consider looking into the AEM Infinity or the Haltech Elite series? They offer great features and modern capabilities. As for the depressed mood, we've all been there with project slumps. Sometimes it just takes a little spark to reignite the passion. Speaking of sparks, ever tried online bingo to switch things up? There's this bingo cash app that my friends got me hooked on, and it's surprisingly fun. It's a quirky stress-buster for me when the car stuff gets overwhelming.
