Question Tec II- no fuel pressure regulator?

Like the title said, I heard that with a Tec II you dont need to use the fuel pressure regulator. Im learning about haltech as I install my e6k right now and I dont understand how this could work or if its even true.

if you use the stock fuel pressure regulating system then non of the stand alone ECU's need a regulator. what is an FMU ?

FMU stands for Fuel Management Unit. The FMU adjusts fuel pressure when the boost comes on. I am currently using one to control my fuel on my 87 TII. My question is: Does a stand alone replace the FMU? I am installing a Haltech E6K and I need to know if I have to remove the FMU.
Thanks,
Ryan

I guess the answer would be no. the Haltech is not regulating the fuel pressure. the tuning of the ECU will need a constant fuel pressure(this will make tuning easier). so if the fmu is able to control the fuel pressure then it should be fine. most installs however use a simple mechanical fuel pressure regulator to do the same function. it senses boost pressure or vacuum and adjusts the fuel pressure to maintain a constant pressure.
