Stand alone help!
With so many companies offering Standalone systems, which few are the overall best. I am looking for something simple yet programmable in many areas when it comes to tuning. I know that with some systems, it isn't plug and play and requires massive wiring like the Halltech systems. Please help me with what system would be good. THanks for the help.
I think it's a 'if you have to ask, you shouldn't be making the choice' kind of a thing. Every system is different (some more than others). In the long run, wiring is going to be the least of your worries (think trouble shooting, tuning, et cetera). If you don't want to spend a lot of time learning, you're best off finding a tuner you like/trust, and go with whatever they're good at.
I used to run a Microtech LT-8, but there were aspects that bugged me about using it on a car I had on the street. I've just recently picked up an Autronic SM4.

I am more than willing to learn and play because that is how you become accustomed to every aspect of the car in the first place. Is there any books or information places you could direct me to find out what system I should make my first. I live in the Northwest near seattle, wa. If you know any reputable tuners in the area, please feel free to let me know. thanks again.
