stand alone ECU help?

I'm putting a 88 TII in a Datsun 510. and the wiring is a total bitch i know stand alone is not cheep and I'm on a budget but it might be an option. I'm keeping it mostly stock for now just a FMIC and bov, exhaust and thats about it for now, later i will take it further. so what would be a good stand alone for this? and what else do i need to buy if i go this way?

You'd be better off asking in the Engine Management Forum than here but on a budget I'd look into a Mega Squirt.

well you're going to have to do a bunch of pain in the *** wiring in a swap like that no matter what. a standalone may be less of a hassle but i can't see it being that much less.

I say you keep a stock ECU and extend the harness or whatever because you have a stock turbo and money seems to be tight

Mega Squirt isn't for somebody who wants to avoid electrical issues. I think the cheapest and easiest decent EMS is the Microtech LT8S. You will need help with tuning, but not as much as with other EMS products, and the installation isn't too bad either. Another option in Canada is the SDS, although I think Microtech is much better and they are about the same price. Find a local tuner before you buy any EMS.
