Running stock ecu and standalone at same time?
Running stock ecu and standalone at same time?
Hi all,
For us 3rd gen auto owners, the biggest thing about upgrading to a standalone is the loss of some tranny funtions. When an auto owner upgrades to a Power FC, for example, they lose the Hold function and teh tranny goes into a 'basic' shift mode.
I personally cannot stand to drive my car unless I can use the Hold function to shift manually (which I do 90% of the time).
Is it possible to wire up the stock ecu to handle certain functions that an aftermarket standalone may not provide for - such as the auto tranny, MOP/OMP/whatever, air pump, a/c (if you are having problems with it behaving normally)
- and leave the ignition/fuel duties/etc to the aftermarket standalone?
I imagine that the inputs to the ecu would have to be duplicated, one for the stock ecu and one for the standalone. How would this be accomplished (correctly)?
Anybody have any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
