Power Fc Question...
Power Fc Question...
I just found out that the POWER FC doesnt apply to FCs, my question is why not?? Is it possible to buy it and tune with it? or is just a waste of my time and i should just get a haltek or microtech? sorry im new to this tuning ecu stuff...can anybody explain this to me?
Re: Power Fc Question...
Most of the new plug & play management systems (Power FC, AEM Plug & Play, Wolf3D Plugin, etc.) are not made for the FC due to low demand, the typical financial status of the owner, and the old age of the stock wiring harness.
Yes, you would be better off with a universal standalone EMS rather than rigging a Power FC to work in your car. Just keep in mind that a standalone EMS is more complex, which is a double edged sword. Plan on spending about $500 for professional installation and initial tuning, or better yet check with your local EMS dealers/tuners for package deals. Advanced dyno tuning and track tuning can cost another $200-2,500, but this also applies to the Power FC. Also note that while you can usually tune a speed-density EMS (Microtech, Haltech, Wolf, Electromotive, etc.) better than anything that uses a Mazda AFM, the speed-density method of management does not compensate for engine wear like the AFM. Therefore, the engine will gradually come out of tune with extended wear, requiring occasional re-tuning.
If you just want something cheap, a simple fuel computer like the S-AFC will work OK for most situations.

Power FC for the FC is out in japan for a long time. PM me if you want it. basically it's the FD power fc with harness adaptor. And it's made by Apex-i not a private company.
