Power FC or AEM EMS?!?!?

In opinions out there what u guys prefer?? I was all about 2nd gen (Haltech, FMIC, 1600cc, TO4B...ect) Now i got an 94 R2. Here are my mods for the 3rd gen for now. T04B 60-1 w/ racegate, PFS IC, 550cc/1300cc 2ndary, 3" full exhaust, stock motor. I may replace the 550 w/ 850 later on. Right now my ECU is G-force w/ PFS PMC.

I'm debating between the Power FC or the new AEM.

I know the AEM has koo stuff like A/C control, traction control, 2 step....and so on.

SO my question is what the big ups and downs between the 2? I kno the PFC make mucho HP, also i kno the AEM will too.

Whats easier to use? to program? both are plug and play so install is a sinch. Both comes out to about same price if you get the dataloggit w/ the PFC.

one other thing, this is a daily driver, so i want it streetable; but also to HAUL ***!! is that to much to ask?

Tnanks
Hai

The AEM has developed no knowledge base for FDs. The PFC has a wide user base with several good tuners in the country. Don't worry about the fact that the AEM has a few more features. They'll do you no good if you can't get the car running well...

So, the only thing you think that is not good about the AEM is that not too many people use it; and I might have a problem tuning it?

Other than issue, is the AEM still a decent standalone?

thanks Hai

From my experience it's a very nice Platform, the issue is experience in tuneing knowledge on your part, or paying for Dyno Time... With PFC you'll be up and running fast, allthough I hate Non Manufacturer supported stuff... like datalogit.
Therefore I bought AEM.... and it's more like Plug (as in no rewireing needed) and Start Learning... cause the base map is a Piece, especially for what you're doing...

Plus I wouldn't send my Dog to XS Engineering... LOL
(Only shop in Socal, that'll tune PFC)

Thats what i was thinking.....after the Power FC and datalogit, i can buy an AEM. A couple of my buds run AEM (in Supras), so they can help me out a little. As long as i get the timing right, i should be good.

What do you mean bout the base map is piece, not that good?

The base map is designed to get the motor to turn under stock conditions... but don't plan on boosting much, and the fuel maps might be off....

So it has all the settings for one of your supra guys to help you out cause he won't know what the pulse width of a rotary 550 cc injector is ... or maybe he does... but all that is allready done for you, but it's not like a PFC where you go .... "I have Large turbo, DP, Hi Flow, M2 Intake.." and it turns over and starts for you....

You have a lot of tinkering to do if you're relatively new to ECU's... but like I said, if your Supra friends tune theirs.. and they know their stuff... perfect....

AEM is definitely a more "open" platform, since it comes from the factoy ready to tune, while PFC you have to either trick it Datalogit... or PAY Big $$ for a shop to tune, and don't let anybody fool you Single, Twins, T04 whatever... to get an ecu working well and making lots of HP for Your setup you need a Dyno with someone who knows his ****... so the fact that PFC works out of the box is all nice and fine, but if you start boosting like mad and don't tune the fuel on a dyno, kiss your apex seals goodbye... either way AEM or PFC.....

in my opininon, if you are building a daily driver the pfc would be the one to choose, for simplicity, but i am not a simple man and i walk a little different path than most.......my decision was either a haltech or the aem, i wanted the e11 but it has issues right now so i chose the aem......i am happy with my choice.....
