newbie haltech questions

hey all

i got a 89 turbo II and haave a few questions about the haltech. i think i want the haltech but i want to keep all the stock emenities like ac and cruise control. can i still keep these with the haltech? i have heard that you have to rewire them. what else do i have to re wire to keep? also my car will be a daily driver and will have to pass emissions. will the haltech be alright for that? eventually i want to go as far as pump gas will let me but i thought i should start by installing the haltech first. is it ok to keep everything else stock, running just the haltech at first then upgrading turbo and ic later? about how much hp can i get on pump gas? if there is anything that i have skippped ( and i know i have) please let me know and thanks for your time.

The cruise control works independently from the ecu. The AC can easily be wired to work properly. The E6K can run your air pump and you can play with your fuel maps to pass the sniffer test. Your car will most likely not pass a visual inspection. It depends on how strict your inspection mechanic is. The haltech will not cause normal daily driving to suffer once it's properly "dialed in". The will also work just fine with any type of mod combination, including a bone stock vehicle.

yes any laptop capable of dos will suffice, try to stay away from compaq's if possible, they dont like the way the software operates thru the comport or something

you need at least a 486 that can boot dos. mac wont cut it. it needs a serial port. a haltech can run up to whatever boost limit you use a map sensor for (generally 3 bar, 30psi). you can retain all functionality. your car should be BETTER in all aspects with the haltech in
