need to make a final decision...
Ok. Someone please help me out here. I'm planning on getting my fuel system work done next month and still can't decide whether to go with the Power FC or Haltech. I DO plan on doing a single turbo conversion and hope for somewhere between 400 and 450 hp. My car will mostly be a street car as well. From all of the studying I did, it appears that the Power FC is more user friendly (no wire cutting), more common among street cars, and you don't need a laptop with the commander to map/log data, but this system will give me more problems when I get into the single turbo conversion. On the other hand, Haltech appears to be more universal where many tuners know how to work on it, better suited for single turbos, and appears to be the best I can get for my FD, but Haltech is usually best suited for race cars and I believe I will also need a laptop so that datalogging can be done. I also know then that I will not be able to alter the data by myself. Please let me know your opinions on my situation! I'm desperate right now! Thanks!
I personally would look into the new AEM ecu, I believe from what I hear it plugs right in, and true you do need a laptop for datalogging, but you only need a minimal lap top, nothing big, and so there are cheap ones to be had. And with Jason's GB, if you can still get in, the price will be fairly reasonable. The only big problem I see is there won't be a big tuning resource right away, but I imagine if you are going single, then you would have someone else make final adjustments to tune it in anyways and I have a feeling that alot of shops will start to learn how to tune the AEM.
BTW, http://www.k2rd.com/catalog.html is supposed to make a wiring harness for a FD/Haltech install, so you might want to check with them to see how much easier this will make your install. I didn't know that they made a harness and it's not listed on their site, but wankawankel posted a thread in this forum and talked about them making one for him.

I'll be upgrading some fuel stuff at the same time though (bigger fuel pump, bigger injectors, f.p. regulator), so wouldn't I need to get my car tuned on a dyno anyway? I'll be going further south in FL to get the work done and the guy that's doing the work for me recommends Haltech. I'm not sure if he has had experience with the AEM system yet or not.
