I'm not sure which ecu's currently need a laptop hookup, but I do know the aem does. I was wondering, in general, how does the datalogger or what not hook up to the laptop on the more popular ecu's? Is it by serial? Parallel? usb? firewire? ieee? I dunno what else is there...:p TIA.

 

I know one of you must of had expereince hooking upa laptop? Am I askign the wrong forum since most of you use Hlatech or Power FC :p? I think so...heheh

 

Most of the EMS units on the market are "old technology", and usually plug into a serial port. Hehehe, in fact, most of them only work in DOS. I haven't seen anything with a modern interface like USB or Firewire. It's probably a good thing, because you don't want to get your nice, new laptop greasy, broken, or stolen.
