Info Request: "Fuel Management for Dummies"

I am in the process of building my s5 t2 and have come to the point where an upgraded aftermarket fuel management system is absolutely necessary for any advancements...I have in the past made many performance choices without the proper understanding and knowledge (causing me to spend much more $$$ fixing the results of such modifications). I know others have ask many questions and I have read many threads on the subject, I have searched and I am still not satisfied with the bits and pieces of knowledge I have found.

With this said, I would like for one of the many guru's with EXTENSIVE and ACCURATE information please post some basic Fuel Management facts and info. Basically a "Fuel Management for dummies" if you will. I know that this would benifit the rx-7 community in general because I have seen a large number of people post that they have done this or that to their 2nd gen and blow the motor or every tells them that they will...

So please give me (and the rest of us that are trying to learn the right stuff) some schoolin' on fuel management...

***Edit: I have looked in the Fuel Management Section with little no luck on FC Specifics. If it would better serve FC owners other in that section please move this thread.***

Are there any specific questions you would like answered? I wouldn't say I'm an expert at anything, however I have years of experience with most Rx7 related EMS(s)-(Haltech/Microtech/PFC/AEM). I just finished another e6k install at the shop, and I'm off to tune her tommorrow morning.

Yes and no. I have almost no experience with fuel management and I know that a lot of others here are probably in the same boat. I was wanting just basic guidelines and such, maybe a list what fuel management systems were good for what desired HP range, just something to get basic info from. Just looking for a good beginners guide if you will.

On a personal note: My personal goal is 285-300hp to the wheels, I have all the basic bolt on, easy mods such as intake, 2.75 dp and exhaust, no cats or air pump, FCD (not installed yet, don't want to pop anything til I get fuel straightened out) RP fuel pump, fluidyne radiator, all the basic tune up stuff has been done (new ngk plugs and wires, fuel filter, etc) I was thinking 720cc secondaries but to reach my goal I may need to go bigger. What fuel management systems would work for my goals? What other mods would I need for the fuel management system?

Which ems? What are the differences between the main ones? Things to look for? Best bang for the buck? You've basically said what 20 other threads say...I want to get more info...

If your wanting to learn how to tune I would suggest going to www.efi101.com. They have a forum along with basic and advanced tuning classes. I attended both of those classes and the information is invaluable. You first learn all the proper formulas to get a good base map then they monitor you on a dyno until you feel comfortable with what your doing.
