HKS F-Con PRO
HKS F-Con PRO
Has/is anyone using this system. I know a couple of people in Japan and they all say EVERYONE uses this unit, especially the top shops and VERY high powered cars. Was wondering how it stacks up against Haltech?
Thanks

Too new to really get a good comparison...
Keep in mind, outside brands are very rare in Japan.  The HKS F-CON PRO is tops in Japan for that very reason - don't be fooled it's superior to everything else out there.
Last time I looked, the unit is very pricy and not very applicable to the rotary engines.
I'm surprised HKS bothered to port the damn thing over to English.  I asked them a few years ago, and they were totally against bringing it over to the US.

The F CON V-Pro has been out since early '97. It's completely compatible with the rotary. And it's map's are huge. It has more adjustment capability then the Power FC gives us. And you can get a used one for around $500. It is true you don't see allot of outside made systems in Japan, but the V-Pro is on top for a reason, it is the best. Its only major downside is you have to take it to a HKS authorized tuner.
You must have talked to HKS USA when you asked that question. I had a V-Pro on my Evo and asked the same question in '98 when I lived in Japan. I was interested in putting it on an 4G63 powered Eclipse GSX when I got back to the states. They were for bringing it over but translating it was a big job. It has many many screens and settings.
Most single powered 7's over there fun the F Con V-Pro or the V-Pro S. But I doubt we will ever have as much support for it here as they get in Japan so a PFC or LX8 would be better if your in the states.
Hope this helps.
