I'm biased, but I wouldn't bother with the stock ECU and AFM. It's probably better to use an aftermarket EMS which has a good support base in your area. The brand doesn't matter as much, since you are not trying to win any races, and every EMS basically does the same thing.
The Haltech E6K will work fine. The Wolf3D 4.0 is better in most cases, although it is a little more expensive. The new Haltech E11 is slightly more expensive than the Wolf3D 4.0, but it can run the oil metering pump on your engine unlike the others.

The stock 13BT intercooler isn't very good for front mounting. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, see if you can get a good intercooler from another vehicle at the salvage yard. The Isuzu NPR truck intercoolers work well in the 2Gen RX-7, so you may be able to cram one into a 1Gen.

Get the one that has the best local support for you. It doesnt matter if it will make coffee for you if you can't find anyone to tune it properly.
Seriously, unless there is some feature of either EMS that you absolutely MUST HAVE, get the system that can be supported locally.
