haltech on my turbo 2?
haltech on my turbo 2?
i want to up the horses on my 7 and i have herd some things about a haltech but i still have know idea of what it is and how it works! HEL ME PLEASE? and how much dose this kindof thing usually cost?
The Haltech replaces your ECU, which controls your engine. It adjust the fuel/spark. With a haltech, you can change all of these values to suit upgrades you do to the car, and to make it more reliable because it has tons more flexibilty than the stock ECU. They run around 1000 for the E6K, which is a few years old, but has been proven, and has a large folowing. Theres also the new E11 which was just released and its 1500. Its kinda new, so support is scarce.
Actually, the cost of an E6K is closer to $1200 than $1000. . . . and don't bet on getting an E11. . . at least not for a while. There are a few problems that are being taken care of before the next run of E11s that will delay the shipping another month or so, most likely.
If you're new to the thought of programmable engine management, do as much reading as you can before you start 'shopping' for a system. The Haltech products offer tremendous value, and there's a lot of support available, despite what some will tell you. Unless you've made some changes to the engine and/or induction/fuel systems, a PEMS will just be money wasted.
What have you done to the car so far?
