Are you saying that the Power FC can be wired into an 88? What would it take and I guess would it be worth the trouble? I know this post is about the e-manage but I would prefer to install the Power FC. Is there a benifit in performance to run a MAF over a AFM? What do you do about the fuel pump in the chance there is an accident?

putting a power fc in an 88 is doable but it is almost the same as installing a haltech.
the easiest way to do it would be to get an fcon harness for an 88 and one for an fd. you then need to make one adaptor harness to go between the power fc and the car. you will have to get both shop manuals, and double check them with the 88 harness (the 88 book has errors). there are also a couple of things you need to change on the car. you need the 89+ tps, you also need to find different coil/igntors for the trailing, and then the tooth offset is different in the cas.

if you had an 89 you only have to move some pins around in the existing harness, and change the ignition

Yeah right.. Lets not forget they advertised it as available for a year before it actually got on the market, they had it on the back of Turbo magazine for as long as I could remember, but when you phoned Greddy, they knew nothing about it, and didn't know when it was coming, then when it finally came out, they tried to play hard to get with the software, only allowing their 'authorized' dealers to tune your car and install it, which in my case happened to be 1500 miles away, and was a Honda specialty shop, yeah sure they can tune a 13b on boost..Not...

I finally threw in the towel and bought an E6k...which I got in under 3 days with a manual in English...Max

Hmmmm, I just recently started seeing advertisements. I dont remember any trolls coming to the board claiming that they were making 680 hp. Congrats on the haltech.

yea, ill be the test monkey for you guys. The Greddy Emanage does not come with the Computer cable or the Software. That you can get for around $100 - $120. Im going to aim for around 8-10 psi of boost on the stock TII turbo. and a safe 12.0 A/F. Im thinking that I should throw in a stock motor and test it in stock form.... Not sure. But hopefully ill have some results next weekend. There is a race this weekend and I am not missing it

You don't need a serial number for the software - just put in *anything*. Last time I installed it I used "666", worked fine .

Is there a problem with the wiring diagram for the '87-88 FC in the Greddy manual? If so, I can cross-reference it with the shop manual and figure it out.

I'll go through the shop manual/wiring diagram this weekend and post up the revised info. Should be pretty easy.

I don't know where you guys are seeing errors in the wiring diagram - I just checked the '87-88 turbo shop manual ECU diagram with Greddy's hookup diagram, and they're dead-on accurate.

If you're getting an AFM trouble code, did you set the dials inside the unit to the correct airflow meter type?

Make sure you don't have the inputs and outputs crossed - the input wire to the E-manage should go to the wire going into the wire harness, and the output should go to the wire that goes to the ECU.

Does the car run?
