Greddy E-Manage on a FC

i was wondering if anyone has got e-manage working complety on a FC. I've read that the ignition harness was unusible becasue the car wouldn't run if it was used. But this was on old firmware. So my real question is does anyone have a fully functioning E-Manage on a 87-88 FC with the Fuel and Ignition harnesses? Thanks

Everything works. I initially thought the ignition harness wouldn't work, but it was my dumb *** that wired the inputs/outputs backwards .

Here's the FAQ I wrote - should cover your questions....

thanks man, yeah i read your writeup and wanted to varify that i can use the ignition harness before i invest in e-manage. the main reason i want it is becasue it costs almost the same as a VAFC in it's standard form and for ~$150 you can have adjustible ignition timing

also, i know that e-manage can let you swap AFM/MAF sensors for the same kind, but is it possible to look at the different output ranges from say a S5 Flap type and a Z32 Nissan hotwire and create a scaled airflow map to make it work? maybe i'm thinking too much but i know some companys like SplicSecond sell maf conversion kits that, with adjustment, can change any type of stock AFM/MAF to their own 3" or 3.5" hotwire AFM/MAF.

You can only switch to other flap based AFM's. As dale as daid the timing works fine and there are many fc owners currently running the e-manage. Check out the yahoo emanage groups.

would the e-manage would work the rtek1.7 chip?....im asking cause of the neat features like anti flood/aws/ignition retards above 9psi....would the adjustable ignition timing be useless if i decide to do the rtek also?...

i dont see why it wouldn't. I was going to go rtek but I cant justify paying so much for 2 sockets and a $2 27C256 EPROM. I'm guessing that the rtek chips are really just a copyed version of some JDM tuner's chip like Knight Sports. I'm going to crack the code on these things and make it public like PGMFI.org did with Hondas

You're not paying for the parts, you're paying for their R&D. I don't think they copied anyone.

theirs not much R&D to it. DASM the code, find all teh tables and what they corrispond to, find the scalers etc... I still think they just copyed a JDM tuner's chip (or chips). I just dont have a RTek chip to compair to say a Knight Sports or RE chip. The code is very simple, i mean in a programer's point of view it's not a a ton of code. 2 128bit chips only have probally 10k worth of lines and if you know what your looking for it dosent take too long to weed thru it.
