GReddy E-Manage

I'm looking into getting a E-Manage piggyback for my '87 Turbo II. I was wondering if anybody has had some experience with it and could tell me the pros and cons. Thanks.

It's very easy to install, I did a write up on it a while back. Depending on what options you got (timing harness/greddy pressure sensor and harness) you have a world of adjustability. The support tool is necessary for anything beyond the little switches you turn outside. Also make sure you check the jumper settings at least twice so they are correct.

If you get a chance update it to the GOLD flash if you have the BLUE E-manage. Just make sure you have a qualified tuner do the "tuning" so nothing bad happens :-)

As far as cons, it doesn't have the pretty built-in interface of the Apexi SAFC, but it does allow for quite a bit more adjustments and with the support tool and a laptop, you can datalog a few items.

Let me know if you need any help with the install.

Thanks for the info Vince. Another question, do you happen to know the big difference between the *blue* E-manage and the *black* E-manage Ultimate?? Thanks for your help.

The E-mangage ultimate has many upgraded features and can even eliminate the AFM, which is cool. But for all intents and purposes, for it features and price you'd be better off getting a stand alone.

On the rtek, the 1.7 has the fuel cut and AWS removed, is set up for 720cc secondaries, additional timing control past 8 psi, deflood mode, and a few other benefits and it is cheap. I got this and then the Blue E-manage to fine tune it as it is a better place to start.

The Rtek 2.0 is nearly like a stand alone ECU, but it is a modified stock ecu, and plugs right in. Has selectable maps for 550/550, 550/720, or 720/720 injectors. Large fuel and ignition maps that can be adjusted, datalogging, programmable by palm pilot, and a 5v input for datalogging a wideband alongside the other parameters. It's a pretty slick way to get lots of adjustability without any hassle and for less than a real standalone.
