effects of timing changes on a rotary
Can anyone give some references to documentation on the effects of timing changes for rotaries?
Solid data in relation to turbo charged applications is a plus.
Heresey is of no use to me.

What type of engine are you talking about..FD or FC turbo.
Generally as a rule 18 degrees total ignition timing up to 15 psi with 95 octane fuel is O.K if you have good air temps and good mixtures. 18 degrees total versus 12 degrees total under boost is generally worth 8 rw KW or 16 engine HP on a standard FC turbo.

Is this with firing the leading and trailing plugs together (no split)?
There are several FSAE papers out on this subject.  I dunno where to get them, but the FSAE website might be a start.
We have the Cosmo internal manual from Mazda.  It has the stock ignition maps in it.  NO, I'm not giving these away.
