Ecu?

hello everyone

im kinda stumped here so i figured id post n ask for some insight, basically im preparing to buy a FC, i want a TII and i was reading about tuning, my grandmother had just baught me a new laptop so i could tune my FC when i buy it, but ive been doing my research and found out that the ECU is what you plug the computer to, so i went google crazy trying to find a new ECU for an FC and either i suck at searching or there isent any? i looked into the Power FC, seeing FC in the name i jumped onto the page n found it to be for the FD....

so basically what im asking for in this post is info or links or anything for a new ECU for my FC that is capable of being plugged into a laptop for tuning purposes n such.

thanks in advanced

Power FC is for Fuel Control. ECU's are Haltech, E-Manage etc etc.

very good to know, ill look into them

thanks for the reply

EDIT: this is why i thought the Power FC was a replacement ECU

Quoted from http://www.srmotorsports.com/sr93ecu.html

" As featured in the SCC project RX-7 car, this state-of-the-art, fully
programmable fuel, ignition and boost 16 bit computer completely
replaces the OEM 8 bit ECU in your 1993-1995 Mazda RX-7. Transform your
ECU into a fine tuning instrument capable of growing with your
modification list."

PowerFC actually controls ignition timing as well.

Try this forum and all it's subforums:

There are many standalone ECU options for the RX-7.

That thread has a lot of good arguments as to what the features of a PowerFC is. Good reading anyways.

You also get to see RETed's head explode.

Just FYI
