Do I need an aftermarket ECU??

My main concern is reliability, not more HP. Of course i'm going to floor it from time to time.. As of now my 7 is undergoing major surgery. Here are the engine mods that will be on the car when i next drive it:

94 RX-7
Intake
Downpipe
Exhaust
Streetported

I feel pretty damn sure that i need an aftermarket ECU. Just give me a good reason WHY i need one, and what i should look for (under $1,200). Thanks a million!

Question

Motec, Haltec, Wolf 3D, Power FC..

I've heard them all, now how do i get one. I plan on no further engine modificiations besides a midpipe... Soooo, do i simply order the ECU with the perameters setup to the modifications done to the car and finito?

intake, downpipe, midpipe, exhaust, streetported, pulley

Here again, the cheaper the price the better!!! I've seen used ones for around $500, which is a very comfortable price for me help a rotorhead out

How to get a hold of Hitman. How much is that with the harness and is there a post with detailed instructions. I really want to do this, but thought it must be dynotuned. How long does the install take. I have a GTX and a GTR.

Need some T2 advice, PM me if possible.

Thanks, ARD
