Question what is this?

Don't know what this controler is. Any help would be great. The guy who owned it before the guy I bought the car from installed it. I'm too lazy to trace the wires into the dash. The car won't run when unplugged. I think it controles spark or fuel. The guy I bought the car from said it controles boost, but he doesn't know his ******* from a hole in the ground when it comes to cars. (I've spent hours upon hours fixing his wiring). I haven't played with it much. I know at idle if I adjust it negative the idle smooths and raises a tiny bit. The car doesn't run the greatest, been working on it here and there. It sat for two years before I bought it. Any help would be apretiated.

It says "FIELD SFC-HYPER" on the sticker on the 3rd pic.
It's a fuel computer made by FIELD.
It's similar to what the A'PEXi S-AFC does.

No, your engine will not run if you unplug it.
You basically made your AFM try and run in an open-circuit.
You can switch the SFC-HYPER "OFF" via the switch in the back.
This will allow the stock ECU to run unmolested by the SFC-HYPER itself.

Thanx Ted. I did some more searching and figured it out. I would, however, like some info on the switches on the back (where they need to be set) and some basic settings. I have a hks air filter, 3" down pipe and straight through mufflers.

the DIP switches on the back are probably correctly set if your car runs.

they're also probably to tell it how many cyl, AFM type, etc the car that it's on has.
