If that 4424 = Stinger 3 on the PDF spec sheet, it's really stripped down.
It just has the bare necessities to run the engine.

The 8860 looks more promising, as it has a lot more inputs / outputs, but I see no price on it.

Specs and resolution look fine.
The 4424 is in the same league as an entry-level Microtech, but the MT has a lot more inputs and outputs.

The one I saw was the 8860 and was better than anything I've seen yet in the "EMS" Wolf, Hal, MT price range....

How much for the 8860?
The link only shows $995 for the lower model Stinger 3 I think.

It lists ~$1,500 for the 8860:

ReTed, have you messed with any of these systems? I was playing with the software, and it looks relatively simple.

I suspect it's much the same as the older EMS dualsport which I used to run. I was caught out as it looked good on paper. Maybe the new software and hardware is a lot better compared to the dualsport. But i found myself and others had a few problems.

Would you mind sharing what specific problems you and others have had with the old Dualsport please?

Trying to decide between the 8860 and the Autronic SM2 should be fun

Never had any direct experience with this ECU, but if we're talking Autronic, I'd take the SM2 in a heartbeat...

EMS Homepage here:

Not very many people on this forum have used the EMS brand products. This is the only thread that I remember:

Yes, the Autronic does seem like a very well set-up computer. I was playing with the software from both Autronic and EMS. The Autronic software seems to be a bit more complicated to use (even though I have no *real first-hand experience with the computer itself. The EMS software looks to be much easier to understand and is very well laid out. This is why I was even considering the EMS 8860 in the first place. I'll search a couple forums and places to see if anyone who's using the 8860 has anything to say about it.

My friend actual wired one up and he said there the best for the cash.... I'd agree.

I think they can be bought for 1,100.00 here in the US... It all depends on the AU dollar....

I'm interested in this discussion too. I'm not afraid to try a new EMS if it looks VERY promising.

Thanks for the reply. Have you had any experience with the 8860? It has 32 load points and a lot of features. It looks good on paper . . . .
