Anyone know if the EFI PMS can be used with the Power FC?

I was thinking of switching over the the power FC and possibly keeping the EFI in there, since it is a piggy back essentially. I would mainly just use it to control boost however, so it could do without it. But Im not sure if they will work together or not. If not I will just end up selling the EFI, but just curious to see if anyone has used both together or not.

Thanks,

Marvin

It will work, but, you may have to retune your boost as the PFC has adjustable boost parameters.

It would work, but it would also be totally pointless and less tunable than the PFC alone since it acts like a Fuel Cut Defenser and lies to the ECU about the boost pressure (the signal is clamped to 12 psi or less).

Switch to the PowerFC and ditch the piggy back.

Hi,

I've thought about this too!

The nice thing about this set up ( if there's no flaw at all) we have 3 different style of maps to use at the finger tips. Might have to tune PFC first tho. I mean put in PFC only first. tune it to your likeness. Put in PMS and tune pms from there. Of cause, I don't know if it'd work, but that's my thought.

But you have better control NOT using the PMC because you get rid of the fuel cut defenser that isn't needed (or wanted) with the PowerFC. You'd have to run different maps for different boost levels with the PMC in there. With just the PowerFC, you have all the adjustability, but only need one map since the PowerFC will see the full boost signal.

Sell the PMS POS. With the proceeds earned from your sale, go and buy a Greddy Profec B boost controller. It has 3 boost settings, off (7 psi), low, and high. As Max said, once the PFC is tuned, you only need one map.
