Some one had asked about a picture of my direct coil setup, so here it is.

Is that 1/4 mile gear I see?
What kind of 1/4 mile times are you running?

Yeah, it's strictly a race car these days, my best time in testing was 9.52 @148mph, in competetition, I have only ran 10.4 in competition I can't seem to hold the stock trannies together.

Did you do the 9.5s with 26" slicks?
What gears are you using in the rears?

How long has your engine stayed together?

26X10X15 M/T et drag's. The engines hold up pretty well, it's the trannies that are coming apart now. I pretty well sorted out the rear end problems, trannies are next.

Good luck with the tranny.
Just wondered if you have had an engine failure in the past year and for what reason(Very few people can claim this feat). I have a friend whos engine has been together since July and he has been competing for the last 1/2 of the year without a failure and we are all very happy.

I also wondered what you did with the rear and what gear ratios you are running?

I had no failures last year, typically I get somewhere around 50-70 passes on a fresh engine, more if I have no tuning issues.

I run 4.30 gears, and they work geat, I notice a worthwhile difference with the gears.

I'd be interested in a comment on how traction control works and how does it feel when using this feature. I would expect this feature to give me better acceleration times and assist in lessening the breakage of drive line components.

I'm also interested in the twin knock sensor feature. How does that work??

I'm getting this ECU mainly due to features that will improve the performance and reliability of my FD. In other words I don't want stuff breaking and engines blowing up. I've heard too many horror stories on souped up FDs. Even ones tuned by the so-called pros.

Thumbs up

Jason,

Nice seeing you on the forum (I know, you registered a few months ago).

It was just last month that I realized who you were online and that I had met you (and you daughter).

How much does your car weigh in at?

Still sometime in February

There is no difference between the Race version and the plug n play, the race version just comes with a loom, and will not plug into the factory harness.

I just realized
after reading this huge thread
that all the Haltech defenders are from down under

you aussie's scared of US ECU competition eh

finally we have a US MADE full featured ECU!
that is going to kick Haltech's monopoly price dictating ***.

I too am very interested in this feature. How well does it work? I have driven a Jag XKR and the traction control is horrible. First the tires spin for a second and then the PCM cuts fuel to keep power from the wheels and the car just bogs. After that acceleration is very slow. Pretty shitty for a $90k car. I hope the AEM can do a better job than that.

Yeah, ok

Jason,

Will the AEM run a 3 rotor with full sequential injection as well as individual coils per plug and lead/trail split?

Jason responded "yes" to 3 rotor earlier - maybe not this thread???

I wouldn't think that individual coils would be a problem, that is what he has on his car (albeit a 2 rotor).

There is a HUGE difference between running a 20B, and running a 20B in full sequential, individual coils and lead trail split. There is not an ECU on themarket that can do this at the moment.

Would it be possible that the E11 will?

The AEM ECU can do this. You run leading 2 and 3 wasted spark, still individual coils, but fire them as wasted spark(Triggered together). Fueling is fully sequential.

Jason.
