ebay clutch works awesome. It was only $160 shipped, xtd clutch 6 puck , stage 3.. I dont think its an actual stage 3, probly feels like a stage 2.. grabs hard. after I installed it, I did a drift event the next day. I think its this clutch and welded combo making me break diff mounts and stubshafts

Yeah. Not only that but you're putting down some power now. The s4 na diff is TINY compared to a t2 diff. Also, consider how much tire you're stuffing under there now and DRIVING daily. Those TINY n/a stubshafts are going to keep shitting the bed on you. Not like all the time but enough to the point where it would be annoying.

Get a t2 diff and run a solid mount. I mean, if you were really hard up you could run throughbolts and a chunk of nylon cutting board as a diff mount.

XTD eh? Yeah. I'm going to look into one of those.

Hi five for being a cheap ***!

put a TII rear end in, get a 2-way or 1.5, be done with it, spend big money now and never worry about it again. instead of getting aero, gt wing and ish you could've had a legit 2 way. not talking crap or anything but just get it over with so you can spend less down time replacing cheap parts and spend more time driving it (daily or track) and not have to worry

I didn't bother reading through this whole thread, so I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but... instead of grinding the holes on the driveshaft flange. You can just put the t2 diff flange in the n/a diff. That's what I did. Way less sketchy.

i just wished that if only the t2 stub shafts fit into the NA diff. It would solve the problem of snapping the halfshaft/stub shafts.

/\ good point larmiejoe

CJ, we buy what we can afford. If it works for a good while, fine.

I'm not making anywhere near the power dk is so my setup in theory should work fine.

DK, it would be nice. That's for sure. I mean if you could just swap those spider gears out for t2 gears that would fix the problem. There's a way to do it but i think that's more trouble than it's worth.

Maybe you could get a set of n/a stub shafts heat/cryo treated?

Spare usuable **** is the ****. Plus, not everyone is "pro status" and not everyone has the downtime to let their car sit while saving for "pro status" parts.

Make it work. Rx7, supra, honda and mitsubishi owners are so **** about **** like that. "it's gotta be done right AND expensive to work"

How many miles on your "oh noes ebay!" clutch?

well considering that's 3k of dd and beating the **** out of it it's good enough for me to warrant spending $160 on one.

Hows street driving with it. I mean do you chirp your **** every time you take off at a red light? I'll run this past my buddy jakob. He's running a six puck in his fc t2.

i have a six puck with a extreme pressure plate, once you learn how to drive it you'll never chirp on take off's, my clutch has about 1/2 an inch of engagement time and i can ride it no problem, everyone else who drives my car either stalls or jerks the **** out of it, you'll learn it eventually where you dont even notice it

Not worried about pedal pressure, the more the merrier. I hate "light" feeling clutches. I wonder if our slave cylinders have a fluid restrictor?

CJ, i'm stock n/a. I dont think i'm worried about popping my diff or killing a clutch. AAA is a phone call away if something does break though.

sigh.... broke ANOTHER stub shaft in half today. It just snapped in the straight away when i shifted to second... I think when Samuel hubinette did the burnouts I did a small one and it fucked up my stub shaft.. oh well..car is making more power than before just from the striaght pipe alone..
good thing my house is only 40 miles away, so i drove home with one wheel drive again on the freewway. was too lazy to swap out my exhaust to the quiet one, so just drove home straight pipe and it was awesome.

yeah . time for a t2 diff...

Well, you should be able to find a diff suited to your power for around $100 bux. Shim the **** out of it. MEASURE BREAK AWAY TORQUE BEFOER YOU PUT THAT **** IN THE CASE or you'll be pissed to find out lockup isn't what you hoped it would be.

sigh the other half of the stub shaft is still inside the diff. Im waiting for my friend to comeover with his welder. I plan on welding along screw to the face of the broken piece of stub and slide hammer that bitch out and then just swap another stubshaft in. **** it , il just run like this until I can get my hands on a t2 clutch lsd.

i dont think its the straight pipe that gave it enough power to break that stubshaft, its the fact that you may have gotten lucky with your other stubshaft, but this one was just weaker. in the end they were both gonna fail sooner or later

well that damn broken piece of stubshaft is stuckj in there for good. I ended up removing the whole rear subframe. took apart the diff and reused my old and first welded diff. shimmed it, and then sealed it up.. the BITCH PART WAS PUTTING the damn subframe back in BYMYSELF. got it in finally, the subframe fell on my finger a few times, Inever said **** so many times in one day..it hurt s like a bitch and was bleeeding all over my tools. **** it its done now.. At least ican drive around now, and hopefully i can get a t2 setuup soonn so Ican hit the track next thursday.. There might be d1 undergound qualifiers...must get this pos fc ready!!! some reason my clutch is falling onto the floor, the pedal is soft, and i bleed it so many times, and its not helping. I think my clutch slave cylinder is bad.
