has anybody found a washer at a hardware store that works as a decent tie rod spacer?

No. Either buy new inner rods with them built in already, or give the dimensions to a machine shop and they'll make some for you. its a lot cheaper than you might expect...

anybody have the dimensions?

i looked it up and it said they can only be 1/4" thick. but is that the thickness of the loop itself or the width meaning it adds a 1/4" of travel?

It would be a bitch for me to take mine out and measure for you.

But the way I feel: If you can't afford a set of tie rods with built in spacer, you're not gonna afford the tires, gas, or entry fee for a drift event...
