s5 ewg exhaust manifold mod

i figure ill get flammed for this but..**** it. instead of buying a new exhaust manifold with a ewg setup already on it. has anyone modded the stock manifold to accamodate a 44mm or whatever wastegate setup? i figure on just drilling a hole and welding a pipe with a flange on it.

yes, this has been done before with great results. Ive personally seen my friends car with a knockoff Tial 38mm gate. Worked great.

S5 is a full twin-scroll. It will be tougher to weld a wastegate on to the manifold itself. Something like this seems like it would be much easier.

I found both of those from the link RUSSTII posted. I was just saying it would be a lot more difficult to install a wastegate on an S5 manifold.

On my S4 turbo/manifold, I opened the wastegate port as far as it could while still being covered by the stock flapper. Then I smoothed it as much as I could on the pressure side. Mine boosted 10psi before, 7psi after. I got the idea from Aaroncake, but I didn't go to near the same extreme he did.

I think the hole was 13 or 14mm when i started. Effing tiny. Horrible pic.

I also cut out the twin-scroll flapper, threaded the hold for 1/4 NPT and put a plug in it.
