so i just got back from the saturday festivities. there is so much carnage at this event. its amazing. 100+mph entry. mad mikes car broke. guess he needs a new electric water pump and only got to do one qualifying run and i only saw one practice run before that. he understeered during qualifying and i thought for sure he was going into the wall. amazing sounding car though. the vids dont do justice.

jtp went into the tire wall on his qualifying run and he hit pretty hard and was going a good clip. just kicked and it was basically a half spin. he stood on the gas to slow it down but he went in pretty hard. but being justin, after he burried the brand new paint into the tires he tried to drive it off the track. safety stopped him. probably worried about fluid on the track.

kyle had a few really great runs and did pretty decent in qualifying. he came out clean so it was great to see it throw down.

i cant remember his name but techtrix with the gold v8 fc did pretty great. took 3rd in the pro-am event that basically destroyed every car but his. and his car looks amazingly clean

sunday looks like it will be an amazing event and ill try to remember my camera this time.

Event is good, however international drivers need to step it up, there lines are a little to conservative, but might just be a game plan to keep there car alive for tomorrow. If you take a look at the most drivers (top16 us formula d) they push to the max by riding cliping zones.

All the socal fires make the air so hard to breath in, but I hope there are more people in attendance tomorrow, it would really be a event to remember.

btw: The techtrix dood's name is: Mike Essa, and he's on the board as well.

 

ah ok cool. his car is amazingly amazing. lol and yeah all the ash falling on us really sucks. the euro guys really seem to have a hard time but yeah its a really great time.

2 of my friends crashed, Tommy Roberts in the gold s13 smashed his rear in, and Matt Powers smacked his front driver side into the wall destroying one if his VS-XX. But matt and other friend Cody Parkhouse got their licenses. Matt Powers i heard was #2 qualifier and parkhouse got 10th

 

This event was the ****!! Everyone who likes rotary missed out to see the 4ROTOR FD,got in for freeeeeee ,ate,drink talked with lots off freinds and hung out with Mad MIke in his FD.This was a well put together event and had lots of fun.Mad MIke FD sounded so freaking awsome and he drove the **** out of it,he even crashed twice trying to stay in the fast *** field.He patched it up and went out to race again even with a broken windshield and duck tape.

i was working the turn on saturday when justin went into the tire wall. he was leaking some fluid that is why we stopped him. he hit so hard and fast that his rear overfender flew over the fence. I was right in the pit for the first turn and cleaned up after crashes allll day saturday and a few on sunday. The 4 rotor was amazing, but he hit the wall twice towards the end of the event ending his chances to go to the finals

 

its too bad about all the rotary cars being damaged during this event, but the course lay out was insane! it looked like alot of other cars didnt survive the weekend either.

For those of you that didnt know justins car was repainted right before the event, im sure he will get it repaired quickly in the normal jtp fashion, if he didnt it wouldnt be jtp. i applaud these guys for being crazy enough to pitch a car sideways at 100mph!

 

yeah it was crazy. saturday was intense. im glad i made the 12 hr trip for it lol. best drift event ive been to and i cant even remember how many ive seen now. it really made me smile watching hubinette crash. i was waiting for tanner and rhys go in too but... maybe next time i guess

 

Rhys got really lucky on saturday. He had a 105 mph entry that ended up with a wall tap and gave him his first ever 0 for qualifying. Mad mike crashed twice in the same battle which was pretty depressing as his car was bad ***. Pawlak looked like he was killing it even after his crash on saturday, i wanted to congratulate him for some bad *** runs but he was always busy when I went to his pit. I worked the first turn all weekend. The pro am guys hit the wall alot. Out of all the pro am guys that made it to saturday I think only 3 people didn't damage their cars to bad. Pina with the mustang just broke a taillight, Mike essa with his ls6 rx7 broke a tailight. and quoc ly lost his bumper i think. The pro am pit looked like a graveyard of drift cars. Overall a bad *** event with gangster high speed entries a some bad *** cars.
