i was reading about it on zt (not a member just browse the build threads), sucks that it happened, when i saw your last run i looked at my buddy who is also a big rx7 guy but doesn't have any right now (has owned a couple fcs) and just went that's not good. then i saw you looking under your hood right before you loaded up on the trailer. hopefully i'll get to see it at another event this year, and louder is better. lol.

Clean I remember when my car was S4. What are your mods?

 

Just a welded diff, intake exhaust, e-fan, bonzai mounts, you know the small things. Its slowly coming along, just need a job for my turbo rebuild. But for now it works.

Oh, and recently got ksport coilovers. (Finally)

 

My shroud was cracked, I didn't want the fan taking power from my motor, and efan clears out engine bay

 

Stock fan is more rotational mass for the motor to spin, I got a Taurus fan. Its not as bulky. But everyone has their preferance

The stock fan probably uses less power because it's not engaged at like anything over 3500 rpm, and the electric fan is putting load on the alternator all the time. The stock fan and shroud is real ugly but it works awesome.

 

Damn I was at willow Sunday for stusa and didn't see one rx7.

 

word. ******* taurus fan was sick, and looked relativly dope, however, burnt through so many wires, relays, and one night it burned through my dash and caught my interior on fire, in my old NA... the wiring was G, and everything. it kept killing my alternators. so i took that **** out. went clutch fan, and honestly after a few pulls you get used to it. if you have a decently fast/powerful NA it doesnt matter. just get one that isnt engaged all the time so it wont sound like a semi truck.

the reliability/performance factor of how good they work is well worth the uglyness.

 

i left saturday night. i blew my turbo in the last run group.
following tommy roberts and soarer guy for like ten laps = red turbo + compressor surging/smashed DSM BOV = blown *** turbo.

i had another one, but i only had one set of tires, and honestly i was over it. my car kept spiking to 14psi, and it was running super hot, so i didnt want to chance it. i just wanted to work out some bugs, and get some seat time with my new alignment settings.

need to take justin's advice and swoop on some camber adjustment, and put on my spindles. it just sucks. im broke, and half of my car is borrowed ****... lol
