offered a sponsorship

so a company offered me a sponsorship. money in the pocket and a wrap for my car.. having a hard time deciding if i want it or not. indeed i do need money but who doesnt? a car wrap from an led company seems maybe ricerish to me.. not to mention that they want to install led's like street glow on it.

thoughts?
comments?
opinions?

its not too rigid but im not the kind of person to take something and then not give a deliverable. if i accept the sponsorhsip, i will have it for the full 2011 season

if youre on VLED's make sure those dudes throw led's all up in your interior!
if the wrap isnt gay go for it.

gatorwraps tried to sponsor me out here, with their logos only on my car, wanted me to part ways with my current sponsors, and weren't interested in paying anything to help make events... just ask alot of questions, and think about the long run. see if theyre open to you signing new deals with other companies (non conflicting) who may also be able to help you out, and make sure they dont mind other logos being on your car. find out a time line. what they expect from you, and go from there. take a few days to think about it, and make sure it's a business deal you'll be happy with 6 months from now.
GoodLuck!!

I'd turn it down.

Go for it 1 small sponsor ship for 2011 could lead to more in 2012 or even partway through 2011. Gay wrap or not they are paying you to do something you like to do anyways.

I agree with red92vr4buckey. weigh they options. Ask what graphics they are planning and if they are willing to make them a little less gay if they are not what you're into. worth a shot, try saying that the fans wouldn't be into that design or some bull **** to get them to change it. They might not want to negotiate that though. definitely make sure you are allowed other non-conflicting sponsor's (like just logos) unless they are putting up a ton of cash your way for events and what not. most important is make sure you WANT to have that sponsor because they are good at what they do/customer service/etc. I wouldn't want to have a sponsor who's product I didn't believe in or supported.

This. It may not be car related but I have had sponsors in the past in another arena. If you do not back the product and believe in it do not put it on your car its that simple. Do they do business the way you would? Is it a deal you would keep for many years? I always wanted someone I could deal w/ personally and continue the relationship w/ room to grow. If they are not interested in this then its no dice. IMO

+1

it's not like a femine douching kit company is trying to sponsor you. take it. ricey or not, money in your pocket is money in your pocket. it's probably a lot easier to focus on your drifting when you don't have to struggle with trying to show up in the first place. i'm sure they're wrap can't be that bad. right?

depends on the amount of $$$ for a full car wrap I'd mostly be concerned if there was enough money to cover tires for the season and some travel expense... you also close the doors for other sponsors if your doing a full X company wrap.

who gives a **** if you support it or not. its drifting, not the olympics.

someone is gonna pay you to drift and you're still questioning it? call me a small-timer but i dont see a problem with it.
****, i'd let GLAAD put big floppy purple elephant ****** (dildoes?) all over my car if they were gonna pay me to drift.

How much compensation are they offering? I think that is by far the biggest factor into a yes or no on this one.

THe exotic/high end bimmer crowd has been doing it for a while now and it looks shitloads better than the **** we do to our drift cars on our own with multiple pieces. THen again, you do paint and body stuff so i understand where you're comming from.

Uh, it's really simple.

If they help you get to events, pay for tires, gas....all that jazz to a significant extent, i think you should do it. If it wont improve your game, decline. Smash the phone down before you hang up to show them you really mean business.

Buckey, being asked to drop ALL your sponsors for one sponsor with far little to gain is good grounds to renegotiate or tell said company to bend back a little further so they can go **** themselves THAT much harder.
