thats healthy cam duration i know people that make 400 on a mild cam like a 268 and 272 its all in the partnering components and tune, it can actually be worse to have such a large duration cam and not have the supporting components also even if you get the better flowing stock heads like ls6 heads and intake it would be better for that cam, cams, intakes and heads are kind of a package deal, youll have plenty of power and with a fd or fc you wont notice the difference in 11hp trust me i didnt but if you truely want to notice a change, upgrade some topend bolt ons trust me you notice it, especially in the come on of the power and torque band

i had a 268 with afr heads and ls6 intake with larger injectors i think like 36lbs and msd coils, in my camaro and it was stupid fast and that car is a heavy pig, it was dyno'd and made 483hp with a conservative tune on comp, im now building a smog legal lt1/t56 fc with bolt ons i wanna make a conservative 400hp but i might slap on a supercharger jus for the hell off it, sorry for the thread jack but like i said trust me if you do the heads then the charger it will be a world of difference plus the charger will respond better

thats what i was trying to say that it is fast enough i was jus trying to throw some info and a little experiance and number figures i have with these motors, you want the torque for drifting to get you in and out with ease, i your on the right track but you dont need me to tell you that

Could be anything really.

More than likely the discrepancy is with the dyno readings.

Cool build on both the FD and FC. Currently looking into swapping either an LS1 or an LQ9 motor into my 88. Want to build a beast for under 10k. I got a lot of ideas from these two builds. Thanks.

It's funny how being a smart *** comes back to bite you later.

You did read where he wrote the words "supercharger" and "both" right? It's not 2k just for the headers...

I know a guy who put a lq9 into his typhoon. Cam'd, and twin turboed, it made 576 WHP.

Hey, let me know if you want to do the 4.6L from a Mark VIII. I have one sitting on my garage floor hooked up to a 4r70w, both computers and harnesses for $500 for the whole setup.

Huge misunderstanding there.

I just thought you left an "r" out.

It happens.
