KAAZ 1.5 LSD (viscous)

Just wanted to know if a KAAZ LSD of this type can be upgraded to a clutch type?

according to the website, it says "viscous".
i'd only assume it's because the stub shafts are set up that way,
therefore, giving the setup of a S5 Turbo II LSD...

i believe it's clutch type from what i see in the picture.

and if applications of LSD is to be used for drifting, i'd suggest a 2-way would be the best thing to use.

Apparently not. FC3S KAAZ LSD's are not all clutch type. When installed on my car, no gears would catch causing it to sit at a stand still.

This is because two equal length T2 clutch type stub shafts were being used. With viscous stub shafts, everything would have been fully operational.

I already spoke to Ray at KAAZ who confirmed that he can upgrade my KAAZ to a 2way clutch type, I was told that I have a viscous unit.

lol this is hilarious

The description says Viscous because the diff needs the viscous TII stubshafts, it doesn't mean the diff is a viscous. think about it, they sell diffs that say Viscous/Open, your telling me that Kaaz would sell an open aftermarket LSD?

I understand what your saying and at this point, from what's being posted on here compared to what KAAZ says...it really doesnt matter anymore.

I just want my diff upgraded. I have stub shafts that are not working with my LSD and it's lame.

agree, a 1.5 will act strange on decel and have a lag affect on acceleration especially when clutch kicking much like a torsen lsd, plus a clutch type is strongly suggested the fluid be changed after any major drifting.
i would suggest a helical but im not to sure of the characteristics of them, it would be like most nissan guys switching to a stock 300zx lsd in the series so id find someone thats done it and get some better feed back

i run a kaaz 1.5. i tried a 2 way, but the 1.5 is better in my opinion. 1.5 has more grip off throttle, and its the same as a 2 way on throttle.

I run a OS Giken 1.5 way and love it!

I like the fact that I can keep better speed in a slide and the car is easier to recover, esp with the FC being so twitchy.
