I'll support this statement. I have a 4.10 differential and you can accelerate while drifting. It could be me, but it rarely happens. 3rd gear clutch kick and minimal angle was the trick for me.

I"ve also done the "sturdy" test. Meaning i had my fat *** brother sit in the thing and TRY to break/crack it. nothing. So if it's good enough for him, my 140lbs should be fine in it. Give it a go. I dont think you'll be displeased.

Also, fellas.....

If you CAN get ahold of a 4.30 or 4.10 rear end and dont mind the higher cruising rpms effecting your mileage, get one. The 3.90 gets the job done but it feels like more of a fight to keep things going. I could actually SPEED UP while drifting with my TII gearing.

It's late, i'm tired, i'm aware i'm post-whoring. If i can't hang out after work, i'm usually on here browsing and/or trying to help.
good thing the streets don't require any scca/fia approval lol

what cars came with what final drive, I probably have the 3.90 my gears are all long as ****, I think my diff came out of a s5 vert, what are the 4.30 and 4.10? tII? gtus?

In the Mazda RX-7 from 1986-1991... Automatic have 4.30, manual have 4.10, UK FC3s with a 13B models have 4.30. You have a 4.10.

Hope I helped!
