carbon fiber hatch?

carbon fiber hatch?

so has anyone messed with trying to make a carbon fiber hatch with a smaller glass (lexan) in the center for an fc.. got me thinking looking a my 350z's hatch...

ima order some cf and give it a try i think, ill post up on here when i get started

heres my mastergrade hatch on my z... my fc is only for drift, so im trying to shave every pound

super now makes a frp hatch i believe and they also sell the lexan glass to i believe. i wanna say there are a couple other companies that make them too but i can't remember

the fcs hatch is basically all glass though. why not just take the glass out of the frame and replace it with lexan? cheaper easier and more effective

I'm sure Chris from ZPOD Composites can make something up.. He makes a bunch of CF parts for Supras from scratch and sells them cheaper than OEM would be.

Last i talked to him he was dipping into the rx7 world starting with some diffusers/hoods

debated that too. i donno, thinking the smaller glass would just look cool imo.

i cant seem to find the super now hatch does anyone have a pic of it that they can post. also i have been trying to find a hatch that a few people in japan have but there very rare. wise sports made one for the fc3s which that is wat i am looking for.

Or you could just remove the hatch altogether and run something like 'livin sideways' has.

Think pop up 240 coupe. That's what his car reminds me of, only cooler and i'm sure the composite cover he has weighs less than the hatch and glass. That hatch glass is definately heavy.

hm i like how livin sideways did his, im thinking less of an angle tho, so its not like a notchback..ew.. ill get started on it soon i hope if bills all go ok

well i can get for reasonable price, we have a factory in town that manufatures it, so im just working on a hook up thru there, may be able to get a roll for around 250
