Buckey's FD Build - RX7 Factory

Took a day trip to Cali to drop off a few parts to Lucky7, and customers. Made my way over to see Ken at shine and pick up a carbon kevlar street diffuser, low pro light wing, and order the roof wing, and side steps to finish off my street car.
While I was there I killed 2 birds with one stone and picked up some cheap rollers for it to save on shipping. Went with 18x9.5 +22 and 18x10.5 +22 Hyper black Vordoven Forme9's.
Car's just about finished up, finally. I'm not sure if painting it was the most tedious process, or taking 3 months to look every single day for all the black interior pieces to convert the interior, but it's finally close to being "finished" for my liking.
The next parts grab for it will be Car Shop Glow round style LED 99 spec tail lights. Really into that style! Not sure if I'll do the Shine Auto Feed style front fenders & bumper or swap to 99 spec just yet but we'll see..

Also, I am still in dire need of finding a Japan "driver" seat to match my driver seat (japan passenger side)
I only want it if it's in perfect shape, free of rips. If anyone knows of anything please message me. Willing to pay solid on it, or trade plus cash for my R1 suede seat that's flawless (30k mile donor car)

Picked up these today for my red FD. Thanks to one of my longest partners; 9K Racing, for the great deal, and delivery from Cali to my shop.
10/10 recommend them if you're in California, hit up 9k Racing for any of your needs! Talk to Joey or Felicia and tell 'em I sent you.
Hoping my Banzai Racing order ships pretty soon so I can install the Power Commander holder, and sort out my clutch hydraulic issue..

Yea! Thanks! They look great, I noticed they don't go super low though, without sacrificing the stroke, and sagging the spring perches. :/ the lower sleeve has a seat on the rear coils that needs milled out and then they should go super low.
But for now I'm keeping it at this height to enjoy it lol
I'll more than likely switch back to Stance Suspension for the drift car

^Word. I have the N1's on my car as well. You're going to love em. They're firm but won't kick your *** when you drive on the streets. I did have to sacrifice some stroke to get my car as low as it is, but it didn't seem to affect much. I put those coilovers through hell for 3 years now and they're still going strong.
Keep up the impressive work good sir.

I'm surprised the spring rates are as high as they are from Apex-I out of the box. The FD is a lot lighter than the FC, and the spring rates are practically doubled. The FC was 8k/6k and these are 14k/12k.
The few things I've noticed so far with the red car, is that I feel like the FD chassis is able to accept more front steering angle at a lower ride height compared to the old FC.
I feel like the switch to a new chassis will be rewarding after it's mildly developed.
I should have updates on the yellow car this weekend. I picked up paint for it, and the red FD will make it's way home so I'll have an open shop once again

Another pic just for boredom's sake.
Huge thanks to Ken at Shine Auto Project for helping me style up the red FD! Granted I'd loved for this to have happened last year when I planned to build my R2 chassis, but seeing it come together is a nice feeling.
The Shine Auto Project low profile taillight wing fits perfectly. Only added double side tape, and it lined up 100%!
Even the rear diffuser was an easy install. Had pre marked holes right out of the packaging, and needed nothing but the holes drilled, and an extra set of hands to avoid scratching any fresh paint!
I've never had an issue with any pieces from Shine fitting anything but excellent. If anyone is on the fence about ordering styling pieces, get on it! You'll love it!
Thanks again Ken!

Thanks. That's the plan for sure!
Next up for this week is tackling the underside of the car. Since it's CYM, and I hate yellow, I'm building a rotisserie to seam weld the underside, sort out any rust spots, and repaint everything.
Should also be beneficial for storage since I've noticed I literally have the worlds smallest shop, and I have yet to buy a lift..
Pics coming soon, but here's an idea for the rotisserie.
