I am not an expert. I just don't think epoxy in general belongs anywhere in a drifting rotary engine bay. After coming this far I would just bite the bullet and get another plate all fixed up and finish it. Drifting with a janky motor is still better than air drifting 1 ft. off your garage floor all season. Don't give up and miss another drift season, is it not worth it. Rock it, blow it up, and LS it over the winter. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. (Well a lot of people are going LS, but that's not what I meant.)
Good luck.
Good luck.
ls swap is a eventuallity

well if i can get 25,000km out of it, then it will be well worth it. However i plan to pull the motor at the end of the season to see how everything is holding up, assuming it makes it that far. And of course depending on how the characteristics of the motor match my driving style it will either get rebuilt or replaced. after talking to a few metal heads/machinist they say go for it. anyways less depressing and janky **** on the way hopefully

So today consisted of me finishing up some porting on my Irons and rotor housings. Then i came home with clean parts ready to reassemble mentally and pyshically but no ups man...(insert heart touch song clip)... so i just hung out with some friends i havent seen in a couple of months and grilling out. Also i am auto-xing a miata tomorrow. since i was planning on the rebuild today and motor tomorrow i have found my weekend surprisingly open. Anyways hopefully i have a not shitty day at work and i can spend the evening rebuilding and tuesday i can install the motor.
Also i the epoxy seems easy to sand but not easy to remove from the metal so we will just have to see how it holds up. you will certainly hear the result either way

due to some back ordered parts the motor wont be done in time for my first event. so today is taking the motor from the vert and putting it back into the coupe where it belongs. Just talked to JTP earlier and he is hopefully coming through on some spindles. Dude is seriously down to earth, if i were in cali i would do all my business with the guy

maybe! but she called me monday on her way to work and told me to order my 2 way and diff bushings and anything else i need to step up to the next level.
However as an update on this piece. Got the stock motor in and after tracking down a cut wire to the omp and solenoids on saturday it ran fine. wasnt able to get knuckles or my alignment done after all the cage work and weight changes but went out and took first iover all at the event so i must be doing something right. Now its time to make some big changes again.

alright So parts have been ordered. Mr roadster 20 circuit kit, carbonetics/ats deftforce 2way, solid diff and rear subframe bushings. Need to install those knuckles and slot the coilovers for more camber and check for rubbing on inner fender area. Looking at sunday being a good day to start wiring.
Just gonna leave the stock engine in for a little bit longer while i get some more motor parts gathered up, cause i am tired of rushing ****
and side note its may 14-15 if anyone else wants to come drift at vir!

oh so PISSED right now. EDOperformance who i ordered the diff from canceled my order and refunded my money due to an incorrect price listed on their website. WTF its only 150 bucks difference they should eat the cost in order to keep business
