first time at the DGRR event... and it was SOOO much fun! we had a blast and even stayed on the dragon after the traffic thinned out. seeing that many rotaries in one place and the setting as the "dragon" was perfect. we definitely made heads turn today b/c we had the largest group. i have tons of pics, video, and memories. it was a great time. thanks again to everyone who put this together and made it happen.

Just got home.. It was well worth the 19 hours of driving (round trip) . Even just to do Saturday's events. Hopefully I can block off 4 days next year to make all the functions and relax a day before and after. As like last year I met many new faces. Finally nice to meet Rich (Goodfellas), Ihor (Rotary Experiment Seven), Shawn (Shawn K) and Ray Crowe from Malloy Mazda just to name a few. Also many from last year. I want to THANK Phil, John, Holly and all the volunteers for the best event I have ever witnessed. It was really special in honor of Mark as well. Cant wait till next year! Only a year away!! Shawn had good time on the caravan back East! Everyone drive safe today!! G

My first time at the gap was a blast. Phil and everyone were great. Wish I had my GSL-SE running but my Miata did just fine. Thanks to everyone for putting on the event..

Thanks to Phil and his crew of VOLUNTEERS for hosting the Event.
I also want to thank EVERYONE who went out of their way to assist me when the RX2 Ckutch disentigrated!
A list of those(If I omitted antone, I do apologize)
BWaits (Billy), Mike, Geoff, Shannon, Kevin Landers for the offer of the tow dolley. And all of those who helped move it from Route 28 (Hellbender)
And a special thanks to Billy's 7 year old son for being patient while we fixed the car

I can't say enough about this entire experience.
First of all. To Phil, Jeremy, John, Holly, T.C. and everyone who volunteered: Thank you! It was a wonderful event! The food, the organization, the CARS, the GAP and the weather were all just wonderful!
Thanks Phil for putting this together and here's to next year and the years after!
I know my wife and I had a wonderful time as well as the whole Louisiana Crew!
Many many thanks for the effort you put forth to put this together and execute a great weekend!
We'll be back!
Kenny

Like everyone else has said, Thanks to everyone who helped put this thing together.
I've been to the gap 3 years now (once with the 8s, twice with the 7s) and this year was the most fun I've had there. Even with some of the mishaps it was still a great weekend. Very very nice! I only have 1 complaint, but thats not for this thread and not the fault of any of the event organizers (sweetwater bbq's shoddy service...) .
See, there is love from the Raleigh crew.
edit: Holly check it out, I changed my subtitle

My wife and I had a great time too. Also, Sat. afternoon had a good run heading down to the village behind a red 8 with tags "RD DRAGON". Special thanks to the driver if anyone knows him/her.

Thanks everyone for thanking me! I'm glad to hear some of you had great time at the event. And I would like to thank those of you who endure the lack of organization and issues you had to deal with.. I'll tell you, This event was BY far the most stressful event I've dealt with. Maybe its because of the number of attendees or maybe its because of some issues I had to deal with.. Either way, I was glad to hear some of you had fun!
I've spent 8 hours yesterday talking about plans for next years event... What I could tell you is that, I'm highly considering NOT to do business with Sweet water BBQ.
By the way, I greatly appreciate your support!

You are absolutely RIGHT! Clint volunteered to help and executed everything he said he would do! I greatly appreciate your help CLINT!! Getting Blunt county was a BIG deal. They are the ones whos on the Gap and them knowing DGRR is all about safety is a GOOD thing!

That was going to be my suggestion actually. I won't go into too many details, but I was highly po'd (on some others behalf actually) after leaving the restaurant on Friday night.

Not a problem!

THANK YOU!!!!
I wanted to chime in as well. After spending several years running events in central florida with a good team of people, I comprehend how immense a task this was, and truly truly have a wealth or respect for the job done by Phil and the entire team.
I will be back again next year without a doubt!!
Completely worth the 12 hour drive.

But seriously, THANK YOU to all who contributed in organizing this event. Even with a few minor incidents it was an awesome weekend. I specially appreciate the hard work you all did to get the weather to cooperate this year!
And can't forget to say thank you to the sponsors for their parts in the event.

[foodjack]I'm still ticked about last years meal... one of the first ones there and last one to get fed and it was so bad I couldn't eat it.[/foodjack]
Like everyone else, thanks again guys. I say DGRR 08 should be a week long event. Getting up there Thursday and leaving Sunday was fun but I swear I'm going to go up there on Wednesday at the latest next year.
