Alright guys! Time is near and I wanted to make sure no one gets lost this year..

So, I've decided to put a schedule together and make sure you all meet up at the correct spot.

We'll start off with Friday, April 20th, 2007

4PM - Meet at the other side of the Dragon (Tennessee side by the water).



After the meeting, some of us will head to Fontana Village to check in, then head to Sweetwater BBQ in Robinsville, NC. (7:00PM - 10PM).



Sweetwater BBQ has a large parking lot that will accomodate 50-100 cars..


Everyone, Please fill up your car in Robinsville, NC for Saturdays event!

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

We will meet at the Top of the Fontana Dam starting 9:30AM. Please arrive before 11AM and parking spaces will be first come first. If the top lot is full, you will have to park at the bottom lot.





Around 2:30 PM, we will leave the dam and head to the Dragon and get to the otherside, where we meet on Friday @ 4PM (by the water front).

At 7:30PM, we will meet back at the Fontana Village for the dinner banquet. Prize drawing and such will take place after dinner!


Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

We'll leave/check out from Fontana by 11AM and head to Robinsville, NC for those of you who wants to run the Skyway! We'll have a quick bite to eat in Robinsville and Leave around 1-1:30PM to head to the Skyway.

Skyway run will take approximately 2 hours with 2-3 stops along the way (highlighted in Red on the map).

 

The more I look at the dam meeting are Im thinking that non-rotary are is gonna end up being rotary. Im thinking we are gonna have too many cars for the one side.

 

Well, the problem is that I can't reserve the bigger parking area.. TVA only allows me to book the picnic area and its parking. Also, the bigger parking is for the Observatory/visitor area parking.. which is open to public.. I know.. It sucks.. Hence, its all first come first parking.

As of now, I have another 10 miata guys wanting to come.. so, the dam area will BE PACKED! I'm thinking we'll have over 200 rotary and non-rotary cars (weather pending). So, show up early!

 

as long as there is enuff food for lunch.... i should would hate to have to kill someone over some bbq

 

I'm going to work that out also... I'm actually going to order some extra just in case..

Where are we parking when Sweetwater BBQ's lot gets full???

 

Where we gonna put everyone when the tables get full? Haha! Might have to take turns hanging inside and outside also. The parking lot might hold 50 cars, maybe 60. Car pool anyone?

 

Good questions guys.. Well, Unfoturnately not much I can do about parking except when full park in the grocery lot block away.

Regarding when the Sweetwater BBQ seating gets full.. Eat and let someone else sit. I'm also going to ask them to set up outdoor seating if possible.. Weather might not be too cold to sit outside.. I'll call the owner tomorrow and see.

 

carpool in 2 seaters....... it just sounds funny. Should work though. Eat and let someone else sit sounds good, too...

 

Hopefully this works, but here is a file I created for myself so I can kinda keep track of the event and what time things are during the weekend.

Friday
· 4:00 PM – Meet by lake on TN side of the Dragon
· 7:00 – 10:00 PM – Sweetwater BBQ in Robbinsville, NC

Saturday
· 9:30 AM – Meet at Fontana Dam
· 2:30 PM – Depart & Drive together through Dragon to TN side
· 7:30 PM – Meet at Fontana Village for Dinner Banquet

Sunday
· 11:00 AM – Checkout/Depart for Lunch in Robbinsville
· 1:00/1:30 PM – Leave Robbinsville for Skyway with approx 2-3 stops

 

As far as carpool goes... we have two extra seats in our black Mazda6 if anyone wants to catch a ride to the BBQ.
